Frequently Asked Questions

Check out a few of the most common questions we have received from clients. Hopefully you can find the answer you’re looking for, contact me. 

  • What is the minimum amount of hours I can purchase on The Staffer Plan?
    It's a minimum commitment of 10 hours per month, available at your convenience. Please note that on The Staffer plan, unused hours carry over with a maximum accumulation of 4 hours per month, capped at 2 times annually.
  • How do you track hours, how are these reported?
    I use Clockify for time tracking and detailed timesheets will be provided.
  • What happens if I need more hours when I’m on The Associate Plan?
    No problem, I understand some months are much busier than others! You can simply purchase additional hours and bolt these on to The Associate plan, these are charged at The Staffer rate of $55 per hour.
  • What happens if I don’t use all my hours?
    If you're on The Staffer plan, your hours seamlessly roll into the next month, offering flexibility whenever you need them, with a maximum accumulation of 4 hours per month, capped at 2 times annually. For The Associate plan, hours don't carry forward monthly, but rest assured, I'm diligent about ensuring your hours align with your needs. Regular reviews allow us to make adjustments for an optimal arrangement moving forward.
  • How and when do I pay for the packages?
    Once we have agreed on the hours you need, I will send an invoice—simple! The Staffer A 50% retainer is due on the 15th of each month. The remaining balance is due on the 30th of each month. The Associate - Payment is required in advance. A 100% retainer is due on the 1st of each month, ensuring you receive priority. Pre-paid hours provide peace of mind.
  • How do I know we are a good fit?
    Every potential client is offered a complimentary 30-minute Discovery Call with me. During this call, we'll discuss your needs, ensuring that I'm the right fit for you. Recognizing the importance of a good match, if it turns out that our skills and your needs don't align, I'm more than happy to recommend another VA. My priority is to ensure you find the right support you need.
  • How do you ensure client confidentiality?
    I prioritize client confidentiality, and I'm more than willing to sign your Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Rest assured that safeguarding your information is paramount to the success of my business.
  • How does payment work with you?
    Once we have set a date to get started on your project, and have been through our contract, you will receive an invoice for a 50% deposit. When the project is complete, you will receive an invoice for the remaining 50%. This will all be written out in our contract.
  • Do your prices include GST?
    I am not GST registered so there is no GST to pay on my prices currently. This is definitely a benefit of hiring a freelancer rather than a big agency but could change in the future.
  • What is Wix and why do you use it?
    Wix is a website building platform and hosting company. You may have also heard of platforms such as WordPress or Squarespace; my preference for designing sites is Wix, mainly because it is so user-friendly for my clients to manage! Check out my ‘Why Wix’ FAQ page for more info.
  • Do you create websites with other platforms?
    I’ve been working with Wix for over 5 years now and know it like the back of my hand! WordPress is a much more complex beast, and because I have become so quick at creating sites in Wix, it means I can keep my prices affordable for small businesses.
  • How much does Wix cost?
    You can find Wix's pricing here, but most of my clients require either the Business Plan, or the Basic Commerce Plan. (Note: This cost, along with the cost of your domain, is separate to my website design fee.)
  • Do you offer Wix support?
    At the end of every project, I set our 3-month check in and our 6-month health check. Wix itself has an extensive 'Help Center' which is a full resource of information. However, for quick questions I am always an email away! If you need further edits after our project is complete or any website updates in the future, I can do piece-work at my hourly rate of $75 unless otherwise negotiated in our initial contract.
  • I know literally nothing about websites; will I be able to do this?
    Yes! My process is designed to be easy and stress free for you. I'll talk you through each stage and let you know exactly how to prepare. At the end, I will be providing you with a complete overview of your site to ensure you are able to move forward with updates if you want manage that on your end. The beauty of Wix is that it is a totally ‘managed’ platform. This means that all updates, maintenance, security and 'tech stuff' is taken care for you so you don’t even need to think about it.
  • What do I need to prepare before my project?
    Once we have scheduled our project, I will send you a ‘homework pack’ with all the things I need from you to get started. This will include filling out a short questionnaire about your business, gathering images you would like used, and getting your domain details together. I can help you through any and all of this if you need! It is a good idea to have a rough idea of how many pages and/or what features you may need on your website (i.e. an email newsletter sign up form, a blog, or a list of services with pricing, etc.) before our initial phone call so that I can give you an accurate quote!
  • I don't fit into any of your packages. Can you create me a custom quote?
    Absolutely! Just get in touch and we can chat about your requirements in more detail!
  • Why do I use Wix?
    I could offer you a break down of the reasons why I choose Wix as the web platform for my clients but I am going to direct you to the Wix site for you to review their summary. I have found the most flexibilty with Wix and the options to add in integrated services like Calendy, Mindbody, and Brandbot just to name a few, have been so seemless. Using Wix takes the guess work out of web management and maintanence.
